1. Specialty-Specific Clinical Competence Course
(Knowledge Evaluation / Validation / Learning)
Specialty-specific clinical topics are customized for the unit and hospital needs.
Course curriculum for each Specialty Program is guided by the Specialty's organization, societies, academies and related agencies.
Content is organized by systems, focused on biological, physiological, psychological and sociocultural factors that influence patients cared for in the Specialty.
2. Specialty-Specific Clinical Skill Validation
Key skills, identified from the Specialty-Specific Clinical Competence Course and from hospital and unit needs, are used to create Specialty-Specific Clinical Skill Validation.
The nurse's skills may be check off anywhere there is an internet with Chrome browser, including at the bedside, using TruMont Bedside Skill Sign-Off.
Skill validation progress can be viewed any time on Dashboards to support early intervention for problem solving and opportunities to praise and encourage wins.

2. Leadership Competency Validation
A Clinical Leadership/Quality Improvement Project is completed during the last 6 months of the Program. It is a capstone-like project designed to examine and put into practice a quality improvement idea for patient care, unit environment or team processes.
It encourages the nurse to move into the leadership role of expert nurse.
TruMont Expert Nurse Specialty Development Program is a structured, guided, 12-month offering. Its evidence-based curriculum is designed to support the experienced nurse on the journey to expert nurse.
The program is designed to be flexible and to be completed throughout the year at the individual nurse Learner’s pace. There are milestones set throughout the Program to maintain steady progress toward completion.
While the amount of time the individual nurse needs to complete the Program will vary, the general expectations is 2 hours per week of Program activities including Cohort Conferences every 4 weeks.
The nurse is shepherded through the Program by a TruMont Faculty Coach and onsite support staff.
TruMont Expert Nurse Specialty Development is a
Blended Learning experience with both online and onsite education and support.
TruMont provides structure, curriculum, learning modules, competencies, and continuous interaction with Learner, Unit Manager, Onsite Coordinator and other key onsite players.
TruMont Faculty Coaches teach and support through emails and Virtual Office Hours. Their availability is not limited to day shift, but occurs throughout the 24 hour day, weekdays and weekends.
Onsite, the Learner is supported by the Unit Manager, the Onsite Coordinator and key players as identified by the hospital. The Onsite Coordinator, often a nurse educator, is the hospital’s TruMont liaison.
TruMont leadership is available to the Onsite Coordinator to discuss any aspect of the program.

Maximum flexibility and mobility enable Learners to complete learning assignments in their own time, at their own pace and anywhere the web is available.
Our platform supports all mobile devices with Chrome browsers. It is accessible regardless of time of day or day of week.
All TruMont Learners may create a Professional Portfolio to document TruMont coursework, other educational achievements, certifications, personal committee work, research involvement, professional organization involvement and volunteer work. The cloud-based document is available indefinitely.
Designed to support competency-based learning, TruMont Dashboards are available online for review at any time by the Learner and those involved in the learning experience.
